Find Out Friday

Every Friday Mrs Andrews brings in something for us to find out about. We ask and answer questions and use our senses. Sometimes the children bring in interesting things for us to find out about. The objects may be food, nature, science, history or geography-based. So far this half term we have tasted and found out about kiwi fruit grown in Chile, Amaretti biscuits from Italy and stollen and salami from Germany. This links with our learning in Geography. We tried some baby sweetcorn which had been grown in India. We talked about whether it was good for the environment to fly food such a long way and whether it could be grown more locally. We found China on the map and tried some fortune cookies. We read the messages inside.
